Problems with Raccoons and Squirrels on your Bird Feeders?
Research has shown that other remedies like baffles and ultrasonic/lights/noise do not reliably defeat intruders. They soon get used to them and come back, HOWEVER…
RaccAway scares them off for good.
RaccAway has unique approach: hung by springs, it’s a very slick sheath, which covers the feeder pole. And it has an automated deterrent.
It works in three ways:
First, Squirrels and Raccoons can’t easily get a grip on the slick surface.
Secondly, Squirrels can handle sudden movements, but Raccoons can’t.
Third: If either intruder DOES get a paw-hold, a strong vibration device (in ULTRA) is set off by their weight. Since vibration triggers an instinctive fear response, they flee.

RaccAway BASIC uses deterrents that go to one of the raccoon’s instinctive fear responses: sudden movement. Squirrels aren’t bothered.
The up/down action of the springs gives sudden, unexpected movement, emulating branches that won’t support them.
RaccAway ULTRA adds noise and vibration, which go right to the instinctive fear response in raccoons and squirrels They interpret both as the approach of a predator. So, they run.

The Raccoon goes right past the ultrasonic horn and flashing light. Baffles are no problem, either.

History: For the next 6 nights, he tried again. And failed. After a week neither this raccoon, nor any member of his family, came back. After two months, he still just looked, and turned away. These videos will show the numerous attempts and the raccoon’s reactions. It’s entertaining but proves the point. We tried to get more video, but they only returned once, tried, failed, and quickly left.
However, as we were testing different sheath heights, the biggest/longest raccoon we ever saw reached up and grabbed a paw-hold on the support clamp. We raised the sheath and vibration device and not another successful raid was launched.
